On January 20, 1993, Chris Street's basketball career ended in an untimely death from an auto accident.

Street a hard nosed 220 pounder from Indianola, Iowa averaged 14.5 points and 9.5 rebounds a game. He wore his emotions openly. he done all he could to excite the crowd. In his last game, he scored 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds against Duke.

"Chris had a great future and was one of the real outstanding kids and players in the Big Ten. What could be more tragic than to have something like this happen? He played hard every minute of the game and because of that he was on of my favorite players in the Big Ten" Indiana Basketball Coach, Bobby Knight
